Macallan 21 year old single Speyside Malt by Douglas Laing. "Directors' Cut" Distilled 1990. Bottled 2011 1/267 bottles from a refilled hogshead Ref 7565. Nose...Opens sweet with ripe banana,toffee and a home baked quality. Palate..Fresh carrying a creamy vanilla sweet style, perhaps ripe peaches. Finish..Medium long, still sweet with orange pith character. This bottle comes in the original wooden presentation box with a wax sealed cork and validation certificate. This is quite simply one of the world's great whiskies. Only the very rich or the hedonist will drink this rather than keep it as a family heirloom.
