During the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh the competitors were given a gift of a limited edition bottle of whisky called 'Gold Medal'.
This bottle is a 12 year old blend from John Crabbe & Co Ltd and is reportedly a very fine drink.
The collectable value of this bottle is enormous as only a couple of hundred were produced and seldom come up for sale.
"The spirit of friendship which inspires the Commonwealth Games is also the inspiration for this unique, limited edition commemorative 12 year old blend of fine whiskies.
The whiskies which go into the blend are all of the highest quality and the produce of some of Scotland's most famous distilleries.
Each constituent whisky is at least 12 years old, matured and mellowed in oak casks and selected for what its individual character adds to the whole. The result is a great authoritative blend which must rank as one of the finest in the world....."
The contents have lost nothing to the 'angels share' and has been stored correctly for many years. The box shows signs of age however is in near perfect condition.
