Bruichladdich Rocks Islay malt whisky is a superb example of how by careful and skilful blending master blender Jim McEwan has created a masterpiece
which will no doubt be around for many years. As it's name suggests it is designed to be drunk with a couple of ice cubes and a little water as an aperitif or at cocktail time.
It is a blend of 5,6 and 7 year old whisky produced in bourbon casks and finished in syrah casks which give the whisky its rich, honey, wine coloured appearance.
Less peaty than one would expect from an Islay whisky it is a favourite with the local islanders of the West Coast of Scotland.
Hints of tea rose and wild raspberry stream through the exhilarating and fresh bouquet. One can sense soft red grapes, pomegranates, and red apple all encased in an envelope of of syrup, sweet malted barley and brown sugar vanilla.
This popular malt is creamy but crisp.Snappy but but sweet.
This is great value at the present price which can't hold for long.
One for the discerning modern drinker.
