Arran single malt limited edition first bottling. 46%vol 70 cl. in original cardboard box. Arran has a long history of whisky distillation but the 50 or so illegal stills and the three legal stills were all closed by 1836. In 1995 the first whisky was produced for 156 years. The attraction of producing whisky in Arran is the bracing air of the Firth of Clyde along with the crystal clear water of Loch-na-Davie where the pristine water collects before flowing down to the distillery. The result is a superb malt, 8 years old. Slightly salted but with a kind of sweet and sour note. It has a palate of sugared hot toffee/complex spice and old nuts. This is a great whisky if you want to taste something new but good before dinner or with guests at a casual party. Limited bottling of 2784 this is now becoming increasingly rare and well worth keeping as a collectors item. Great value at the price
